Chiara Cappelli is an internationally recognized scholar, author of more than 180 scientific publications, and is included among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in Chemistry. Her academic achievements have been recognized by major national and international distinctions, including the Philip J. Stephens Award on Vibrational Optical Activity and the Carla Roetti Medal of the Italian Chemical Society.
She has a strong track record in academic leadership, competitive research funding, and scientific evaluation. She was Principal Investigator of the ERC Consolidator Grant GEMS and has coordinated or led several major national and European projects. She has supervised numerous PhD students and postdoctoral researchers and regularly serves as panel member and expert evaluator for leading European and international funding agencies. From 2017 to 2024, she served as Vice-Rector for Technology Transfer at Scuola Normale Superiore, alongside several other institutional and governance roles.
